Under the coordination and promotion of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, the "Spring Seed Operation" launched by the Chinese government was officially launched on April 5 at the Colombo Port City Camp, a landmark project of "One Belt One Road" in Sri Lanka. The CHEC and other Chinese enterprises in Sri Lanka have actively cooperated with the Embassy to ensure the success of COVID-19 vaccination. The Sri Lankan subsidiary of CSTG participated in the vaccination event as a volunteer.

The Colombo Port City project, jointly developed by the Sri Lankan government and the CHEC, is a key project of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" jointly built by China and Sri Lanka. The first phase of the project cost about 1.4 billion US dollars and the land reclamation has been completed. With an additional $13 billion of investment and more than 83,000 jobs to be created in the second phase over the next 20 years, the Port City project will be a new engine for Sri Lanka's economic revival.
